Music and Lyrics by Adam Gwon
This contemporary musical is for anyone who’s ever struggled to appreciate the simple things in a complex situation. It’s about embracing change and choosing hope in the Big Apple.

Why I chose this play
“Each song gives me some reassurance that humans are innately good. Humans have the ability to think in the abstract and to find beauty in unexpected places. We make music, and music is never incidental. It is vital.”

The Ottawa Public Library and GCTC have come together in a special partnership to help you explore the themes and topics raised in each play during GCTC’s 2017-2018 season.
OPL’s Readers’ Advisory staff have read the scripts for each of the plays, and recommended resources to further the exploration of their themes. The resources will only add to the experience of seeing the show, and can be explored before or after being part of the audience.
The GCTC Prologue Series is back for another year of exciting discussions that take us into the creative process of the plays on our stage.
The Prologue Series is free to the public and will take place before the second preview of each production at 6:45pm in the GCTC lobby. This event takes place on November 1 and will break from the previously established format to include a behind-the-scenes tour of GCTC. Conducting the tour will be GCTC Artistic Director/Ordinary Days Director Eric Coates, Ordinary Days Set & Lighting Designer/GCTC Production Manager Seth Gerry, and Ordinary Days Music Director Wendy Berkelaar.
"This production sets the stage for a growing musical theatre scene in Ottawa that accepts that musicals can say as much about the human condition as 'legitimate theatre', albeit in a different way." - New Ottawa Critics
"Not only were the performances flawless, but even half way up the seat rows I could see facial expression so clearly, and more importantly the dynamic melodies and simple repetitionis of key phrases to move the story forward allowed the audience to keep track despite getting lost in some emotions." - Apartment 613
