CCLA/GCTC Lawyer Play 2026:
Our Town
by Thornton Wilder
directed by Hugh Neilson
April 15 - 18, 2026
Thornton Wilder’s beloved classic about everyday life, love, and the beauty we often miss while we’re busy living it.
Guided by a charismatic Stage Manager, we’re welcomed into the world of Grover’s Corners to share in the lives of the Webb and Gibbs families. We, as the audience, watch their children grow up, fall in love, and start families of their own, while celebrating community, cherishing small moments, and reflecting on what truly matters.
“Thornton Wilder’s masterpiece… an immortal tale of small-town life… a classic of soft-spoken theatre.” – The New York Times
A heartwarming celebration of everyday life, love, and the moments we don’t realize matter most.
About the Preview Performance
Previews are public performances before the official opening to allow the director, design team, cast, and crew to make small adjustments to the show that weren't found during rehearsals before the gala performances.
What is the Lawyer Play?
The Lawyer Play is a major annual special event fundraiser that GCTC has been conducting for 25 years in partnership with the Carleton County Law Association. Each year, a volunteer cast of local lawyers and legal professionals take the stage in a show produced by GCTC. The event is a significant fundraiser for GCTC, and each year also supports a charity partner, chosen by the lawyers involved.
