Bringing theatre, the legal community, and charitable giving together for more than 25 years.
The Great Canadian Theatre Company (GCTC) has presented the annual Lawyer Play in partnership with the County of Carleton Law Association (CCLA) since 1999.
Each year, a volunteer cast of local lawyers and legal professionals trades the courtroom for the stage, rehearsing and performing a full theatrical production with the guidance of GCTC's professional artists and production team.
A Legacy of Community Impact
More than just a performance, the Lawyer Play brings together Ottawa's legal, business, and arts communities in support of a shared cause. The event is a major annual fundraiser for GCTC and also supports a local charity partner selected by the participating lawyers.
Over the years, Lawyer Play has supported 26 local charities making a meaningful difference in Ottawa, including Upstream Ottawa (mental health community support), Cornerstone Housing for Women, QuickStart (early intervention for autism), Roger Neilson House (pediatric palliative care), Salus (housing & mental health), and the Ottawa Food Bank (fighting hunger locally).

In-kind Support
