Seventeen years ago, Isobel was murdered at the tender age of nine. Now she finds herself back in her previous life as a ghost searching for the person responsible for her untimely death. But this time she’s powerful, having the ability to watch over the living, observe them, and sometimes interact with them. Isobel has been paying attention to her former neighbours, and it’s not long before she begins to suffer along with them during their dark and horrific private experiences. Will she finally get the peace she’s been yearning for?
In 1991, Judith Thompson received a Floyd S. Chalmers Canadian Play Award for Lion in the Streets. Productions of the play have been held in a wide variety of North American locations, including Toronto, Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, Portland and Vancouver, but also Łódź, Poland. Judith was a playwright-in-residence at Tarragon from 1984-1989.
Lion in the Streets was first produced at Tarragon in November 1990.

Lion in the Streets is 2 hours and 14 minutes in length.

When access begins on Feb 11 at 8pm, you'll get an email with a link and password to the Tarragon Acoustic portal, where you can listen to the audio play.
Simply click the link and enter the password provided. Remember to enjoy Lion in the Streets before February 25, 2021 at 11:59pm, at which point it will no longer be available.

Q: When are the performances?
A: Tarragon Acoustic's performances are pre-recorded, and you can access them at any time until the end of the show's run (noted above).
Q: Can I pause the show and return to it?
A: Yes! You can pause, leave and return at any time, but your place in the recording may not be saved. Just remember to finish watching before the end of the show's run.
Q: Why does it list June 30, 2021 when I select the ticket?
A: Our system is designed to sell you tickets to shows with specific times. That date is just a placeholder.
