Top Ottawa tribute acts join forces after individual sold out club shows stepping up to the GCTC
Given the success of Big Pink and High Waters’ sold-out tribute shows at Irene’s Pub, the two local groups have decided to extend their collaboration by presenting a double-header performance at the Great Canadian Theatre Company (GCTC) on January 17, 2026.

High Waters have gained recognition for their tribute performances celebrating the seminal art rock band, Radiohead. Both timeless and era-defining, Radiohead’s music has influenced High Waters musically and personally, inspiring the band to pay homage to the iconic group.

High Waters, established in Ottawa in 2009, craft melodious indie rock that evokes the ineffable. "Goodnight Mara" (2015) resonated nationwide, paving the way for coast-to-coast tours. Their latest EP, "Not Dead Not Alive," was released in January 2024. The band includes Derek Connely, Martin Villeneuve, Matt Speedy, Brandon Walsh, and Joshua Hofmann. Critically praised for their delicate balance of sombre and serene, High Waters create enduring experiences that speak to the human condition. Since 2019, in tandem with writing and performing their original music, High Waters have also gained recognition for their tribute performances celebrating the seminal Art Rock band, Radiohead.
