Live From the Belly of a Whale
Created and Performed by Nicolas Di Gaetano and Emily Pearlman Directed by Patrick Gauthier
A girl hides in an oversided armoire waiting for her brother to return. This epic of cetacean proportions explores the ferocity of the family unit and the secret worlds we make as children that later face necessary extinction. Infused with low-tech magic this piece soaks janky cabaret music in seawater and punches fish hooks through poetic texts, creating a place where history and imagination get confused. From the creators of Countries Shaped Like Stars and Inclement Weather.

"If everyone could have as much fun as Emily Pearlman and Nicolas Di Gaetano so evidently do while performing, the world would be a much better place... simply magical to watch." HOLLY GORDON, The Wig
"Di Gaetano and Pearlman do what they do best: evoke memories, fragile hope, visions of fantasy and reality, and a profound sadness as they unveil a story about two young siblings." PATRICK LANGSTON, The Ottawa Citizen
