Carmen Aguirre returns to GCTC with the full production of her smash hit from the 2012 undercurrents festival. Blue Box investigates Carmen Aguirre’s remarkable life as an underground revolutionary in Chile. It’s a story of terror, romance, and abandon that takes us from the dangerous mountain passes of Chile to the perilous roller coasters of Hollywood; from an ardent love affair with a TV star, to a passionate love for a revolution that strove to change an entire nation. Carmen’s memoir, Something Fierce: Memoirs of a Revolutionary Daughter, won the 2012 CBC Canada Reads competition.

PlayTime

Sunday, January 27, 2013 - The Playtime Program is a fun and enriching opportunity for children to exercise their creativity, while theatre-going parents get to enjoy a great GCTC matinee. With the purchase of a PlayTime ticket ($31.25, tax included) to a Sunday 2pm matinee, the Playtime Program will provide fun and stimulating supervision for children aged 6-12. Spaces are limited, so please reserve your spots no later than 48 hours before the show.

GCTC's Fritzi Gallery presents:

Chiko received his Masters of Fine Arts in Bulgaria. His multi-disciplinary work will be shown at the Fritzi Gallery in conjunction with Carmen Aguirre’s Blue Box.

"Both Chiko and Carmen create work that engages and explores community politics and grassroots activism," says curator Don Monet. "They create excitement through the ferocity of their passions -- Carmen with her words, Chiko with his paintings. They make us care about issues, about each other, about the collective."
