GCTC is proud to bring Rosa Laborde's acclaimed play Leo to the Ottawa stage. This coming of age story features three childhood friends who grow up amidst the political turmoil of Chile in the 1970s. Set during the election and overthrow of Salvador Allende, the play gives voice to those who 'disappeared' during Pinochet's regime. Caught int he sharp corners of a love triangle, Leo's three characters live the revolutionary spirit of their time. An ode to the innocence of optimism of youth, Leo examines the tension between art and politics. When a military coup turns Chile against itself, innocence disappears. Passion and politics collide in this stunning new play about life and love in dangerous times.
