Spring has sprung in the GCTC Box Office

The snow is melting, the weather is warming, and subscriptions are flowing in. Every year after GCTC unveils a new season of plays, the GCTC Box Office prepares for our busiest (and favourite) time of year: RENEWAL SEASON!

Volunteering at GCTC

Every year at this time we begin the critically important task of selecting and hiring new volunteers for our highly sought after front of house positions. Our industry leading volunteer program employs over 130 volunteers throughout each season and welcomes a variety of dedicated people. The GCTC volunteer program continues to be an integral part of the company's operation on a nightly basis. These highly trained front line staff help box office staff ensure each performance goes as smoothly as possible for all our patrons.

A sell out!

It was once speculated that if Simon and Garfunkel performed a reunion concert the only suitable venue large enough to accommodate the demand for tickets would be the desert. Equally true is the current production arriving at GCTC March 18 - April 6. Mary Walsh`s Dancing With Rage has been consistently selling since we launched single ticket sales back in July. It is an exciting time to be a part of the box office team.

Festival time...

Each year, around this time, a groundhog sees its shadow and confirms at least 6 more weeks of winter. For the past four years, a week after groundhog day, GCTC welcomes its annual undercurrents theatre festival to our beloved building at Wellington and Holland. Six new shows have been programmed, each unique from the other, each with its own original story to tell and audience to appease. Tickets are available at $15 each, or festival passes can help you save $$. February looks to be a busy and entertaining month.

Volunteering at GCTC

Last night GCTC hosted the annual volunteer appreciation party and awards ceremony. A Mexican fiesta. Each year, GCTC honours an outstanding volunteer with the `Judith Allen Volunteer Award" for commitment to the company. This year two people were honoured, Cathryn Arnold and Lorna Tener were each selected from the pool of 130 volunteers for their work throughout the 2012-2013 season. Looking forward, GCTC spends the summer recruiting new volunteers and re-training current volunteers to new software, procedures and policies.

News from GCTC box office...

With the unveiling of Eric Coates' new 2013-2014 season, the box office has been operating at full capacity to keep up with the demand for tickets and subscriptions to this exciting new season. Imagine, Ann-Marie MacDonald and Mary Walsh in the same year! Audiences won't be disappointed with this line up, and GCTC won't either with the amount of people we will see through our doors next year. But let's get through the summer first, and mourn the first round NHL playoff exit of our beloved Toronto Maple Leafs (sigh).

Ticket Specials and RAFFLES

Halfway there. 3 down, 3 to go. We have hit our mid-season break here at GCTC but business is business as usual. Every year around this time GCTC offers a special on tickets. We offer or Holiday "Evergreen" pass that gets you 2 tickets to any performance of any remaining play in our 2012-2013 season. This is available through the box office at a discounted rate. It comes complete with a gift bag and gift card that can be given as the perfect gift for the holidays. GCTC box office is also operating the annual GCTC "It's a BIG Deal" Fundraising raffle.

Fly Me To The Moon and others...

The second show in our fantastic 2012-2013 season is now rehearsing here at GCTC, the set is under construction, and tickets are selling quickly. Don’t miss out on this show, Fly Me To The Moon is sure to deliver laughs when it premieres November 1st. Further news, GCTC has once again offered a Groupon! Valid for three of our next five productions all patrons enjoy two tickets with our annual EVERgreen pass offer. For those skeptical of Groupon, GCTC’s offer is very simple. There are no blackout dates and plenty of good seats are available.
