Since launching the 2013-14 season three years ago, the GCTC honey bee has become a sort of (hopefully now recognizable) brand for our theatre company. It was Eric’s fearless first season at GCTC that first introduced it, and since then we’ve worked to incorporate it into all our marketing campaigns, shaking things up a little year by year.

Next Tuesday March 8th we're teaming up with the GCTC for a one-night beer-food-theatrical funtacular. To butcher an old phrase (see what I did there?), we believe artists feed cities. And so we're teaming up with a great restaurant and one of the most important theatre venues in the National Capital to feed theatre-goers for one great night.

A few years ago, Jan Irwin accepted the challenge of adapting this cherished novel of Brian Doyle’s. The original production was performed at the NAC 4th stage with over 30 actors. Eric Coates, Artistic Director of the GCTC, commissioned Jan to create a new version for the GCTC’s 15-16 season.

Well that was a fun night.

If you weren’t at GCTC Saturday night (it’s okay, some of you are social butterflies) then you missed the debut of an energetic and lively series from our Artistic Director Eric Coates. Along with some help from his band leader Hugh Neilson (GCTC’s Managing Director), Eric hosted the first “In the Lobby” late night talk show. “In the Lobby’ showcased the ever-increasing versatility of GCTC’s lobby, a sampling of the artists that live right here in Hintonburg, a chat with our city councillor, and much more.
