The Studio Theatre at the Irving Greenberg Theatre Centre is in full swing this fall. We’re welcoming some old friends and new acquaintances back into the space who will present two compelling dramas, perfect entertainment for the murky rain and cooler temperatures we see this time of year.
Gruppo Rubato, spearheaded by Patrick Gauthier as Director, will present Snapshot which was read as part of a fundraising event for the company this past Spring. I am excited to see what the amazing design team as lined up for this production. As a new work this will be a fine compliment to the opening productions of GCTC’s 2012-13 Season. Gruppo Rubato’s last full production in presented in the Studio Theatre was Airport Security, a hit in 2010.
We are also welcoming back 9th Hour Theatre Company, returning in October for their second production in the Studio Theatre. This past March they presented Dostoevsky’s Crime and Punishment for their first ever production at the Irving Greenberg Theatre Centre. It was a superb show and an impressive accomplishment given the young age of this burgeoning theatre company. We look forward to hosting them for their upcoming production, Agnes of God, Directed by Marc-André Charron. Themes of religion and psychology are prevalent in this show; for more information on Agnes of God visit www.9th-hour.ca
GCTC is please to see these two excellent companies back into the Studio, and hope to see them again in future seasons. For production rental information for the Studio Theatre at the Irving Greenberg Theatre Centre, please visit www.gctc.ca/about-us/rentals
